	Information
	Kom Hotel AB is owned and run by YWCA-YMCA of Sweden. The hotel was built at the beginning of 1970 and opened for business in 1972. It was, first and foremost, a student dorm, but was used as a hotel during the summer. On May 15th 1978 it became a full-time hotel.

Our Owners

YWCA-YMCA is the world's and Sweden's oldest youth movement.The YMCA was founded in London in 1844 by a young business employee, George Williams. In just a few years the movement became known all over England. The concept spread and soom the YMCA grew in both Europe and the USA. At the World's Exhibition in Paris in 1855 the YMCA's world alliance was formed. The YMCA in Sweden was formed in 1884.

In 1855, the same year the YMCA's world alliance was founded, the first YWCA was founded by Emma Robarts och Mary Jane Kinnaird in London. Like the YMCA, this movement spread and grew quickly too and in 1894 the YWCA's world alliance was founded. Sweden was one of the four founding countries. The YWCA's world alliance is today one of the biggest women's organisations in the world.

The association's primary purpose was to promote the care and education of children and young people. The hotel's revenue is used to support the associations children and youth activities.
